The Chicago Writers Association is a creative community of Chicagoland writers established in 2003 and federally registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2008. We span many genres, styles and levels of experience. Our purpose is to share information, experiences, and encouragement with those of us for whom written expression is an integral part of life.
The boundaries of the Belmont Theater District range from The Lake to Diversey Parkway to Ravenswood Avenue to Irving Park Road. The BTD has OVER 50 THEATERS located within a 1 mile radius of the heart of the Belmont El, our main (but by no means only!) transport hub. That officially makes us the LARGEST CHICAGO THEATER DISTRICT, one of the best theater cities in the world. The question should be – Why didn’t we think of this sooner? See below for our awe-inspiring list of BTD Partner Theaters.
Eckhartz Press was founded in Chicago in 2011 by Rick Kaempfer and his long time collaborator and friend David Stern. The name “Eckhartz” is a tribute to the men that gave them their creative genes; Kaempfer’s father Eckhard, and Stern’s father Fritz. Eckhartz Press is a boutique Chicago publishing company dedicated to serving the brave new 21st century publishing world; the laughing “E” logo a constant reminder that life is too short – don’t ever lose your sense of humor.
